DC Public Library Partners with CareLuLu to Promote the Sing, Talk, & Read Campaign‏

In honor of the Week of the Young Child, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with the DC Public Library in support of the Sing, Talk, and Read early literacy campaign! It’s never too early to set children on the path to success. As a professional early childhood educator, you understand the importance of imparting early literacy practices starting at birth to better prepare babies and children for success later down the road.

The Sing, Talk & Read DC initiative, led by the DC Public Library, shows parents and caregivers how to make singing, talking and reading to their very young children a part of their day, every day.

You can watch us discuss the campaign on Let’s Talk Live (NewsChannel8) and offer examples of how you can turn your everyday routine into a fun learning opportunity.

As part of the Sing, Talk & Read campaign, the DC Public Library has produced a variety of educational materials such as parent and early childhood provider tip brochures, bookmarks, stickers, magnets, posters and more. If you are interested in receiving Sing, Talk and Read materials please email sally.ginsburg@dc.gov with your request (for DC-based child care providers only.)

The DC Public Library also provides Sing, Talk and Read workshops for early childhood provider staff. If you are interested in having your staff members trained in Sing, Talk and Read, please email Micki.freeny@dc.gov to schedule a date (for DC-based child care providers only.)
